Simplifying NI for Self-Employed

Are you self employed? Do you think that the way you pay your National Insurance Contributions could be simplified? HMRC have recently carried out a survey exploring whether it would be simpler and more straight-forward to collect National Insurance Contributions (NICs) alongside Class 4 NICs and Income Tax through the Self Assessment (SA) process, in an effort to reduce the administrative burden on self employed people.

HMRC will be reviewing the results of this survey and we will keep you abreast of the outcome.
