Wadleys In Bicester receives award

Congratulations to Wadleys one of our long standing clients who are aiming for a century in business after seeing its customer service recognised with an industry award.

Wadleys, based in the town’s Market Square since October 1919, won the Best Independent Retailer (Consumer Electronics) award at the Independent Business Awards.

The business is run by brothers Keith and David Wadley.

Co-owner Keith Wadley, 60, said: “The award is given to a company which shows that it provides, and has always provided, exemplary service over a period of years.

“We were absolutely thrilled when we learned we had won the award and it served as a real morale-booster for my brother and I, as well as our hard-working staff, in these economic hard times.

“We look forward to continuing this level of service for as long as our loyal and new customers want us to provide the service they should deserve and receive.

“We were established in Bicester in October 1919 and are looking forward to being 100 years young.”

In its early days, Wadleys were gunsmiths and clocksellers and now sell a range of electronic items.

The award was presented in association with the Radio, Electrical and Television Retailers’ Association (RETRA) and the Electronics Trade.

Barretts Digital were highly commended in the same category.

Wadleys was nominated by RETRA and shortlisted by a panel of industry judges.

Graham Knight, an electronics columnist and blogger, visited the Bicester store to present the award in person.
